The Little One's Second Picture
The Little One's First Picture
The "blob" at 6w1d (6 weeks, 1 day).
*Such a lousy photo but I took it with my camera phone, which is why it's so small.
We're Having a Baby!
Since I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow (yay!), I thought it was time to start our blog. I've been wanting to do this for some time but wanted to wait until I was in the "safe" zone. I'm still a bit nervous and unsure but excited at the same time.
Just a little info for those unaware of what we've been up to:
we are living in iowa city, I work for Danny at Berg Auto and Ryan's a foreman at Ace Electric, where he's been for almost 4 years (this time.) Piper just turned 4 on Christmas Eve - still trying to get used to that, by the way - and is absolutely thrilled at the idea of being a big sister!
I found out on Monday, December 3rd that I was pregnant (I took a total of 7 tests over the course of 4 days) and I still don't think it's really sunk in yet. I've had two ultrasounds and have heard the little one's hearbeat on numerous occasions, as I splurged and rented a doppler for a few months. Let me tell you, it's great for peace of mind. Piper loves to sit next to me and listen to her sister's hearbeat. Yes, I said sister. She's insisting that we're having a girl because "I need a sister, Mommy!" Well, we'll find out in march and I hope for her sake, she's right!
I'm feeling pretty good...now. Morning sickness - something I wasn't "blessed" with when pregnant with Piper - set in at 6 weeks and hung on for dear life until almost 10 weeks. I got an Rx for phenergan (aka "miracle drug") which really helped with the nausea. I'm only taking half a dose at night now, as I feel great during the day.
My due date is august 14th, with my repeat c-section tentatively scheduled for august 7th. As my doctor said "This baby may have other plans like Piper did
I'm getting quite the belly on me and will be posting belly pics along the way. I guess that's about all for now. I'm really glad i'm doing this, as I want to make sure all our friends and family can check in as they want and keep updated. I don't want to be obnoxious and send out monthly emails so if you want to know what's going on with us, YOU have to do the work. Ha ha!
Until next time,
Kelli
